Mount Izumo
A long time ago, Shimoteruhime, the daughter of the great lord of Izumo, arrived here by boat from Izumo and settled in the precincts of the Shitori Shrine. It is said that his life surpassed his hometown, and he walked to this hill and wished Izumo far away. People who saw this figure eventually came to call it Mt. Izumo. Currently, it is maintained as an observatory, and you can see not only Lake Togo, but also Wai Onsen and beautiful mountain ranges such as National Park Oyama.

Commemorating her past home, she climbed up this mountain and gazed towards Izumo. Seeing this, the local people started to call the mountain “ Mt. Izumo”. Currently, there is a look out point open to tourists.
