Nijisseiki Pear (Japanese 20th century Pear)
The lush Nijisseiki Pear (Japanese 20th century pear), filled with sweet juice, is a representative fruit of Tottori Prefecture, where production began as early as the Meiji Period (1868-1912). The Nijisseiki Pear from Yurihama Town is especially blessed with a favorable climate, renowned for its taste, often praised as the best in Japan.
From late August, visitors can enjoy pear picking at local farms, indulging in all-you-can-eat pears. The freshly harvested pears are remarkably juicy. Early April is the best time to witness the pear blossoms, and the sight of white flowers covering the mountains has become a beloved spring tradition in Yurihama.
