Near the Monument to the Curies, there is a brick-paved square and a brick flower bed. The monument was erected in honor of the Curies' discovery of radium.
This monument, made with bricks from Ningyo-toge for the pedestal and its surroundings, has become a new landmark for Misasa Onsen.
From now on, the happy couple will welcome many tourists at the entrance of Misasa Onsen. The height of the monument is about 1.5 meters. The scene represents Marie Curie speaking to her husband, Pierre Curie.
