Sanraku Garden by Garden Designer Mirei Shigemori
Mirei Shigemori was a landscape gardener representing the Showa era of Japan, a researcher of garden history, and designed "Sanraku garden" in Misasa.
She designed a pond garden in Showa 29 (1954), and later designed a Karesansui (dry landscape garden) in Showa 30 (1955), and Showa 41(1966).
The garden named "Sanrakutei" was the first of its kind in Japan, called a “Circuit style garden with a sandy beach", with paving stones arranged in the courtyard of Karesansui. Currently, this place has been preserved after repairing the pond from those days, within the green zone of the multi-purpose parking area.
