The "Yakushi-no-Yu" (foot bath, drinking fountain) is situated in the square where “Yakushi-sama” (Medicine Buddha), the deity of the hot spring town, was enshrined. The Buddha was prayed to for the healing benefits of the hot springs’ medical properties. Many visitors come to pray for health benefits.
