Misasa violin museum
The concept of the museum is to exhibit stringed musical instruments, focusing on how it's made and played, which is much rare in Japan. The gallery on the 1st floor displays the process and the materials of the instruments, and provides the violin making experience. Concerts are also offered on the 2nd floor.
POSTED on 2016/03/14
On the first floor of the museum, modeled after a Gassho-style house (a traditional Japanese house characterized by its steeply pitched thatched roof), not only are stringed instrument-making tools, woods, and books introduced, but also the detailed process for making them is displayed.
On the 2nd floor, replicas of stringed instruments crafted by one of the few stringed instrument makers in Japan are on display.
Please visit the exhibition sometime.
