Tanikawa Tengudo
The well-established tea shop in Mitokusan has been in business for over 100 years. The shop has a good reputation for its mountain vegetables, such as bulbils and Iwatabako (rock tobacco plant). Handmade wasabi pickles, sansho miso, Fuki no Tsukudani (preserved food, butterbur boiled in soy sauce), and tochi mochi (rice cake made from horse chestnut) make great souvenirs. Kinako tochi mochi, a rice cake made from tochi nuts (horse chestnut) covered with soybean powder (kinako), is also highly recommended. Please feel free to drop by.
