Kurayoshi Furusato Crafts Center
Kurayoshi Kasuri is characterized by its intricate and elaborate patterns that seem to weave images directly into the fabric. At the Furusato Craft Center, you can observe live demonstrations of Kurayoshi Kasuri, as well as purchase items like noren (fabric dividers) and bags. The museum also features exhibitions of ceramics from local kilns and materials related to the legend of the Utsubuki Tennyo (heavenly maiden).

Kurayoshi’s very intricate, elaborate dye patterns are a local speciality. At the Furusato Crafts Museum, other than seeing how these patterns are created, we also sell Japanese noren (cloths which hang in doorways), bags, etc. Also, ceramics, pottery, and information about various traditional folk legends are available for perusal as well.
