Kanzaki Shrine
The exact origin of Kanzaki Shrine is unknown, but it is said to have been founded in the late Muromachi period. The current main hall was constructed in 1848, during the first year of the Kaei era, by carpenters employed by the lord of the Tottori domain. The ceiling of the worship hall's entrance is adorned with carvings made from zelkova wood, so exquisite that it can be considered more of an art piece than architecture.

The shrine follows the rare "Ichimon-sha Irimoya-zukuri" style, uncommon in this region.
The annual festival, with over 70 years of history, includes a traditional "Funamiyuki" ritual, where a portable shrine is placed on a boat and sailed around the sea, praying for maritime safety and a good catch. The sight of about 20 fishing boats decorated with vibrant flags during this event is truly magnificent.
A fireworks display is held on the night before the festival.
