Old Nakai Ryokan (Japanese Inn)
Although it has since closed and been renovated, traces of its former appearance remain. The former Nakai Inn, located right by Yabase Coast, is known for hosting Lafcadio Hearn and Setsu during their honeymoon in 1891 (Meiji 24). Hearn was particularly fond of both Yabase and the Nakai Inn, writing to a friend, "Yabase is quiet and beautiful. The inn is the best I have stayed at anywhere."
