Ōtsuka Hydrangea Park
Located in Kotoura Town, "Ōtsuka Hydrangea Park"sits along the coastline, offering a refreshing sea breeze and a panoramic view of the ocean. The park was created when hydrangeas, originally planted by locals to prevent salt damage along the Kotoura coast, were gathered in one spot during the construction of a new seawall around 1975. The park is located north of the Ōtsuka intersection traffic signal on National Route 9, towards the sea. Within the park, nearly 2,000 hydrangeas of 10 different varieties are planted.
