This ancient shrine's name is in the Engishiki, an ancient book for codes and procedures on national rites and prayers compiled in the Heian period. The annual Otaue(rice planting) Festival, held on 5 May, combines prayers for a bountiful harvest and safe birth and is designated as Cultural Property by Maniwa City.
