Kayabe Shrine
This historic shrine was also known as ama-no-Iwakura(rock seat for the divine) and Junisho-gongen-sha(shrine for 12 incarnations of Buddha) in ancient times. In spring, beautiful cherry blossom trees line the 1 km approach to the shrine. The giant 13 m high Myojin-type stone Torii gate on the approach to Kayabe Shrine is the largest of its kind in Japan and is a designated cultural asset of Maniwa City.
