Kamo Shrine is in the Hiruzen Shimomi area. It is said that a spirit from Kamigamo Shrine in Kyoto was sent to the shrine during the Hakuho period (1644-1868). The cedar in front of the shrine is called the 'Thousand Year Cedar' and is said to have grown large as a result of the wind and snow blowing down from the Hiruzen Three Peaks.
