National Park Hiruzen
The Hiruzen area in the northern part of Maniwa City, including part of the Hiruzen Three Peaks, is included in Daisen-Oki National Park. However, the name of Daisen-Oki National Park does not include the name Hiruzen, and the area is not well known as a national park.
Maniwa City has requested the Ministry of the Environment to add Hiruzen to the name of Daisen-Oki National Park to make people recognize that the Hiruzen area (part of the area) is in a national park. Still, this request was not granted as it would require expansion of the restricted area, etc. The Ministry proposed to call the area National Park Hiruzen, so it is now called National Park Hiruzen.
