Chuka Shrine
The shrine was founded as the shrine at the foot of Kurumado Shrine in the Hiruzen Chuka area, upstream of the Uesugi River, and was renamed Chuka Shrine from the village name in 1913.
Since ancient times, people have worshipped this shrine as a guardian deity for cattle and horses and as a god of warding off evil, protecting against bad luck, and ensuring safety on the road.

The shrine is adjacent to the local Nakawa Primary School, where a cedar tree over 400 years old stands in the precincts.
There is an episode when the planetary probe Hayabusa was on its way back to Earth, three of its four engines were in danger of stopping, but the people worshipped at the Chuka Shrine, which has the same Chinese characters as the Chuwa instrument that only worked.
Perhaps thanks to the blessings of this shrine, Hayabusa returned safely to Earth in June 2010.
