Misasa Onsen × Misasa Onsen Hospital “Modern Toji Wellness Stay Plan”
Purified through ascetic training at the sacred mountain of Mt. Mitoku, and healed by the world-renowned radon springs of Misasa Onsen — this land has long been a place where people sought ultimate renewal.
Since ancient times, Mount Mitoku has been revered as a sacred site of Shugendo, while Misasa Hot Springs has flourished as a health resort.
People would spend extended stays here to restore both body and mind.
Today, however, long retreats are a luxury few can afford.
That is why Misasa has created Modern Tōji (Gendai Tōji) — a new style of wellness retreat that gently resets your body and mind, even within the rhythm of modern life.
Combining the natural warmth of mineral mud wraps, the restorative power of radon-rich hot spring waters, and the inner nourishment of “Yu Shoku Kenshin” (wellness cuisine) , this unique experience revives the ancient belief that “by the third morning, your illness will be healed.”
Immerse yourself in the hot springs, be healed by the mud, and rejuvenate with nourishing meals. Discover a new you.
What is a mineral mud compress?
This unique Misasa hot spring therapy uses mineral-rich mud drawn directly from the natural source of Misasa Onsen. The mud is heated to around 80°C, wrapped in a towel, and gently applied to the affected area for about 30 minutes. This helps improve blood circulation and eases accumulated fatigue and stiffness. It is said to be effective for chronic discomfort such as lower back pain, frozen shoulder, and joint pain. Immerse yourself in the healing blessings of Misasa’s hot springs — a special experience that brings deep relaxation to both body and mind.
